The proposal was based in the creation of a park that would promote hospitality and social interaction in a place where paths and movements would corss into one another. The area in question is evolving into a node of the surrounding area where uses and activities of the urban fabric as well as the immediate neighborhood co-exist. The proposal designs for an extensive bicycle path which will cross through the eastern perimeter connecting Foinikoudes Beach, the Marina, the Archeological Spaces to the northwest and the Salt Lake in the south.
Simultaneously the proposal is defined by the intent of a green “void” in the center of Larnaca being redefined as a public green space with ample paths as well as cultural and sports activities. The modern identity of the park aims to connect the neighborhood to the historically conserved buildings surrounding it. Τhe integral directions of design were taken in careful consideration of the above by evolving the existing ephemeral and permanent activities of the park such as the nearby Youth Center workshops and the gardening area but also adding on new spaces like an amphitheatre a skate park, a canteen as well as an open gym area.
