In our proposal,  water is allowed to play a major role and become part of the new landscape.  The basin captures rain water and gradually allows it to be discharged, while it simultaneously allows the sea to wash into the estuary. The retainer becomes container, composed of archetypal materials assembled around an ever-changing landscape where water predominates. River boulders, white exposed aggregate concrete, wood and gabions, are composed into a reconstructed basin through a system of intelligible recreated flow-lines, adjusted to the scale of the landscape.
